Booking our facilities

On this page you will find descriptions of the event and meeting spaces we have for hire, associated hire fees, terms and conditions and a link through to the 3rd party site we use to manage our bookings.

Heritage Hall

This is the main hall in the Wigmore Village Community Centre. The Heritage Hall has a maximum capacity of 150 people theatre style or 100-120 seated at tables. The space comes with an audio/visual system, projector and screen, a fully controllable lighting system and portable stage.

Mortimer Café 

The Mortimer Café provides a flexible space for informal gatherings and meetings. Normally furnished with a mix of dining tables and chairs and comfortable armchairs, the space be set up in a variety of configurations catering for approx 20 people in a classroom layout, 15 board room style or 35 theatre style.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does the hire fee include access to the kitchen?

    The hire fees for the Heritage Hall and the Mortimer Cafe separately includes access to the kitchen  by the hirer or the hirer's caterers for the preparation of drinks and light refreshments (not cooking) and the use of glassware, crockery and cutlery. 


    The fee for hiring the whole building includes the  kitchen staffed by a Community Centre representative.

  • Who clears up after an event?

    Clearing up is the responsibility of the hirer and rubbish must be removed by the hirer. Recycling may be disposed of in the on-site recycling bins.


    Cleaning up any mess made during an event is also the responsibility of the hirer.


    Note: for daily hires of the whole building a hirer can opt to pay for clean-up after the event. The Rate is detailed in the Hire Rate tab for the Whole Building Hire.

  • Who organises room set-up if a specific arrangement is required?

    The hirer is responsible for the arrangement of chairs and tables for their event and they are also responsible for returning the rooms to their original state after the event.

  • How much car parking is available?

    There are 12 designated car parking spaces immediately outside the Wigmore Village Community Centre.

  • Can I visit before I book to check it is suitable?

    We welcome prior visits to enable you to be sure that our venue is what you want for your event. Please contact us to arrange your visit.

  • Is there WiFi available?

    Yes, free WiFi is available for visitors to use.

  • Do you have any restrictions as to who can hire the venue?

    We do not hire the venue to anyone aged less than 18 years, nor to anyone who may still owe us money for any reason. There may be some activities or events for which we would choose not to hire out the venue; please ask if you need to.

  • How will I gain access to the venue I have booked?

    Depending on the type of event either someone will be there to welcome you or you will be given the code for the keysafe beside the exterior door.

  • Is there access for the disabled?

    Yes - The main entrance to the hall has a ramp and hand rail which leads to the toilet for disabled people. The foyer, hall and cafe are all on one level.

  • When do I pay for my hire?

    Payment is required 7 days before the booking. Last minute bookings require immediate payment.


  • Can I decorate the space I've hired?

    It is not permitted to attach decorations to the ceiling or to the lights or other electrical appliances. Decorations can be attached to the walls via blu-tac or equivalent. The use of pins or sticking tape is prohibited.

  • Where is the assembly point in the event of a fire?

    In the event of a fire, make your way to the nearest exit as quickly as possible. The WVCC essembly point is on the other side of the road opposite the building.

  • There is some faulty equipment at the venue; what should I do?

    Contact managment as soon as possible via email, telephone or via messenger on the WVCC  Facebook page.

  • I’ve broken something belonging to the venue; where should I report this?

    Contact managment as soon as possible via email, telephone or via messenger on the WVCC  Facebook page.

  • How do I operate the heaters / lights / other equipment?

    The WVCC management team are in control of the heating and this should not be adjusted. The lights for the hall are to the right of the double doors and the lights for the cafe are inside the electrical box. 


    Instruction in use of the audio visual system in the main hall will be provided at a mkutually convenient time prior to the booking.

  • When do I get back my deposit?

    Deposits are returened after a satisfactory of the venue by the WVCC team after the booking


  • I’d like to leave some feedback on my experience of the venue. How do I do this?
